Rural and Remote Medicine: 2SLGBTQIA+ Primary Care Services Survey

Welcome to the Rural and Remote Medicine: Urban-Rural Discrepancies in 2SLGBTQIA+ Primary Care Services Questionnaire!

Co-principal Investigators: Dr. Andrea Daley and Dr. Jessica Kainth

We are interested in learning about your experiences of providing care to 2SLGBTQIA+ individuals as a Family Physician or Family Medicine Resident in rural or remote Ontario. This questionnaire is completely anonymous, and you are welcome to leave any questions blank. This questionnaire will take approximately 10 minutes to complete.

The findings from this survey will help provide a better understanding of needed 2SLGBTQIA+-related resources to rural and remote Ontario Family Physicians and Family Medicine Residents to enhance equitable medical care and support for 2SLGBTQIA+ individuals and communities in rural and remote areas.

We are anticipating that the results of this study will be published by Sept 2024 and presented at the Society of Rural and Remote Physicians of Canada’s Annual Rural and Remote Conference 2025.

The acronym ‘2SLGBTQIA+’ means Two-Spirit, lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, intersex, and asexual people and communities. The ‘+’ describes any individual or community that identifies as outside the heteronormative structure of gender, relationship, and/or sexual identities, which is continually expanding in definition, understanding, and diversity.
